Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A photographic contact sheet is produced by placing exposed film negatives directly onto light-sensitive paper and exposing them to light. In the 1920s, photographers used contact sheets as reference guides to inspect multiple frames and figure poses from a single shoot before selecting images for final enlargement.

Art prints and photographs from this era were typically mounted on card backing using starch pastes or photo corners. Frames were commonly constructed from solid timber, often stained, polished, or detailed with gilt accents, accompanied by standard clear window glass.

Authentic period prints display characteristic paper weight, subtle tone variations, and signs of silver gelatin or rotogravure printing techniques. Inspecting the reverse for pencil annotations, photographer stamps, or original studio serial markings also helps establish period production.

Framed vintage photographs integrate well into gallery wall arrangements alongside architectural drawings or monochrome sketches. They can also be displayed individually in narrow wall spaces, corridors, or above low furniture to create a focused visual accent.

Keep photographic prints away from direct sunlight, UV exposure, and moisture to prevent fading and discoloration. Ensure the print is mounted using acid-free board and conservation-grade glass to safeguard the paper matrix from environmental deterioration.
