A Regency Mahogany Sarcophagus Cellarette 65cm wide with original lead liner, C1830 Manner of Thomas Hope.

An impressive scale Regency sarcophagus wine cooler-cellarette in the manner of Thomas Hope, measuring 65cm wide and featuring brass lions mask handles, ebony inset stringing to the top and gardrooned supports.

The fine quality, mahogany cellarette opens to reveal its original lead interior liner. The lid operates on its original hinge with original lock and key with brass escutcheon.

Presented in very good structural and cosmetic condition, just back from our workshop for minimum conservation and even wax polish.

A heavy and well constructed cellarette from a skilled cabinet makers workshop with a striking elegant presence.
