Antique Silver Pin Cushion - Naval Cap

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a wonderful example of an antique solid sterling silver novelty pin cushion, this one styled as a Naval Captain's cap.

It is clearly hallmarked on the side for Chester 1908 with the maker's mark of S Blanckensee & Son Ltd. It is large and tactile. The cushion on the bottom is original and has faded from its blue/purple colour and the silk lining on the top is also worn, with a few pin holes. It is a fabulous piece.
