Georgian Period Lancet-top Bracket Clock By The Noted London Makers Desbois & Wheeler Of Gray’s Inn Passage, Dating To Circa 1810–1820.

The substantial mahogany case of elegant Gothic lancet form, richly ornamented with ebony line inlay and geometric stringing, standing on impressive gilt brass paw feet and retaining its original lion-mask carrying handles and Gothic side frets.
 
The original convex painted Roman dial signed Desbois & Wheeler, Gray’s Inn Passage, retaining its original surface with attractive age-related craquelure, fitted with original style steel hands and strike/silent selection to the arch.
 
The substantial twin fusee eight-day movement striking the hours on a bell, additionally fitted with pull repeat and engraved backplate signed by the maker. The clock remains in good working order.
 
A highly decorative and superior quality Regency bracket clock combining refined Gothic architectural design with an excellent original movement and desirable repeat mechanism.
