A Rare Engineer Made Miniature 19th Century Divers Helmet 13cm High

This exceptional piece of early 20th century model engineering is beautifully handmade in heavy gauge copper with solid brass fittings.

This remarkable object was made as a one off piece replicating an original 19th century early diver’s helmet accurately in miniature.

The copper has been hand worked in curved sections and beautifully silver soldered together with very neat seams.

Each part of the brass fittings has been individually hand made for this miniature helmet and fitted together with neat soldered joints or screwed or riveted. A complicated detail is that the helmet rotates separate to the shoulder section in a similar way to the full sized original. From the information given, the helmet was made in the late 1920s.
