Description

Large Art Nouveau terracotta figure by the celebrated Austrian studio Goldscheider c.1900. Standing 33" tall and modelled as a young female water carrier loading two large amphora on a rope across her shoulders. Artfully modelled hair and clothing. Original pale green painted finish. Signed by the artist 'Haniroff' in the clay and stamped with the factory mark of Frederich Goldscheider together with the serial numbers 2234/85/14. Excellent original condition.
