As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large most charming Meiji period (1868-1912), Satsuma okimono depicting Daikoku, the God of wealth, good fortune and abbundance, this jovial character is seated upon his huge treasure sack whilst wielding his mallet. The okimono beautifully decorated with vibrant colours in the traditional Imperial palette , these brightly enamelled colours synonymous with Imperial Satsuma decoration of the last quarter of 19th century.
