Description

A plaster bust of cellist Rodolphe Soiron By Jules Etienne Berchmans.Rodolphe Soiron was as distinguished cellist of the early 20th Century. Jules Etienne Berchmans was prominent Belgian sculptor and a close friend of Soiron as seen in his inscription (to my close friend). The bust was sculpted in 1933 in plaster and patinated to give a faux bronze appearance. The work shows a great skill and technique and also great sensitivity capturing Soiron beautifully.
