Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian Scottish dirk brooch is a decorative piece of jewellery shaped like a traditional Highland dagger, popularised during the 19th century amidst widespread interest in Scottish heritage.

These items typically combine sterling silver or gilt metal settings with native Scottish stones, such as jasper, agate, cairngorm, and faceted quartz or glass accents.

Authentic 19th-century pieces often feature hand-engraved motifs such as thistles, flush-set polished agates, Victorian silver hallmarks or purity stamps, and extended pin fastenings.

A dirk brooch can be fastened to heavy wool coats, lapels, scarves, or knitwear, offering a structured historical accent to contemporary garments.

Clean gently with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical polishes or water submersion that could compromise the stone settings or remove natural silver patination.
