Novelty Dutch Silver Miniature Violin Scent Bottle - Holland C.1870

Description

A fine quality Dutch novelty solid silver scent bottle in the form of a miniature Violin, Circa 1870. Profusely decorated with rococo scrolls, the front with a pastoral landscape, the reverse with a classical depiction of winged putti, cork stopper to base. Finely made and cast and unmarked as late 19th Century Dutch silver often is. It measures 10cm (4") and weighs 39 grams.
