Antique Folk Art Barrow in Original Paint

1900 - 1920
Description

Antique Folk Art Childs Wheel Barrow in Original Paint. A unique piece of folk art, in totally original condition. We know the original owner 'Eric Taylor' a seven year old boy from County Somerset, England. The barrow dates from the late 1800s.

An astonishing find, with the most wonderful original paint throughout and coachline decoration. This barrow has been loved and revered for many generations of the same family.

The barrow most likely made by a coach builder for his son. Look at the amazing skill in the coach line painting. Then look at the construction of the wheel, the four spokes with large block dovetails into the outer wooden rim, the exterior with metal protection.

Every length of wood is faceted, and coach lined.

This barrow is an incredible survivor made with absolute love for the recipient.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
