We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

19th-century British equestrian art focuses on accurate anatomical depictions of horses, capturing specific breeds, prize-winning steeds, or working farm animals within stable or landscape settings.

Artists painted watercolours on woven paper using natural earth pigments mixed with water and gum arabic as a binder, often incorporating light graphite underdrawing.

Authentic 19th-century watercolours feature subtle pigment variations, natural age toning or light foxing on the paper, fine hand-painted brushwork visible under magnification, and historical signatures or monograms.

Position the artwork in a dark wood or gilt frame with an acid-free mount, placing it above a sideboard, embedded within a gallery wall, or as a focal point in a library setting.

Frame the watercolour behind UV-filtering glass with non-damaging mounting materials, keeping it away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and heat to prevent colour fading and foxing.
