Lee Hawkins Antiques & Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

The cresting is surmounted by a fluted urn with flaming finial, flanked by husk-and-leaf swag garlands sweeping down to a pair of slender torchère columns - each carved with acanthus foliage, spiral fluting, and finial terminals. The oval plate sits within a deeply moulded beaded frame of fine proportion. The lower apron features scrolled acanthus leaves, a central sunburst patera - a richly detailed composition throughout.

The giltwood retains its original warm patina, with areas of honest wear that speak authentically to age. The mirror plate shows the characteristic foxing and light tarnishing consistent with a genuine antique glass.

A classic English overmantel mirror of this quality and completeness is among the most sought-after pieces for period interiors, country houses, and significant reception rooms.

Condition Verified by Hawkins Antiques
The giltwood frame presents well overall for a piece of this age and complexity. The gilding retains a warm, well-developed patina throughout, with areas of honest wear to the higher relief points - the urn finial, the swag terminals, and the upper edges of the torchère columns - entirely consistent with age and characteristic of genuine period.

The carved detail is intact and crisp throughout - the husk swag garlands, beaded oval frame, acanthus apron, and Green Man mask terminals are all present with no significant losses or repairs noted. The overall structure is sound.
