The instrument features a polished brass mechanism with a traditional stack of vacuum capsules operating a finely balanced recording arm, tracing atmospheric pressure changes onto the rotating chart drum.The drum retains its removable brass top and period chart paper, while the mechanism is engraved “Short & Mason London” together with serial numbering to the brass platform.
