Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Silver filigree enamel jewellery combines pliable silver wire twisted into intricate lace-like patterns with vitreous enamel fused onto metal panels. This technique gained widespread popularity across Europe and Asia during the 19th and mid-20th centuries.

These pieces are crafted using fine or sterling silver wire that is bent, twisted, and soldered into decorative frames. Enamel powder is applied to selected recessed sections and fired at high temperatures to create a durable, coloured glass finish.

Authentic pieces usually feature maker marks or silver purity stamps on the clasp or reverse loops. The enamel should exhibit smooth, fused glass surfaces, while the fine filigree wirework displays precise soldering and natural light oxidisation.

Fine jewellery of this nature is frequently styled on velvet-lined trinket trays, glass-topped vanity displays, or framed inside shallow shadow boxes to highlight the detailed craftsmanship when not being worn.

Clean gently using a soft, dry lint-free cloth, avoiding harsh liquid dip cleaners that can damage enamelled surfaces or strip deliberate patination. Store in a dry, padded jewellery box away from direct sunlight and moisture.
