LOVELY ANTIQUE COUNTRY OAK COFFER DATING FROM JAMES 11 RESTORATION PERIOD OF AROUND 1680-1700.

IT HAS A LOVELY THICK PLANKED TOP WITH DEEP FRIEZE HAVING LUNETTE CARVINGS ABOVE THREE FIELDED CARVED PANELS.

ALL THE CARVING IS ORIGINAL AND ITS STANDS ON SHORT PLANK ENDED LEGS WITH PLAIN PANELLED SIDES AND ROUGH HEWN PANELLED BACK.

IT IS HAND AND PEG JOINED.

A LOVELY COFFER WITH GOOD COLOUR AND PATINATION AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

Length: 48 Inches

Width: 22 Inches

Height: 27 Inches

A WELL WORN EXAMPLE,STILL RETAINING THE PERIOD CHARM & OLD REPAIRS WITH ORIGINAL PLANKED LID,MADE FROM TWO PIECES.
