Large Black Forest Carved Figure of a Hunter and Dog

Description

Standing 48cms tall a real " black forest" figure of a hunter and his dog.

It dates from the early part of the 19thc and is a superb piece of carving.

The colour is rich and well patinated

These carving were made for the wealthy of the period as they embarked on their " grand tours" in bavaria and the low countries .
