Ritas Bazaar has dated this Masons Ironstone Teapot to the Georgian era.
Its documented “New Oval” form, recorded by Philip Miller, is paired with dense iron-red scale decoration, Chinese conversation reserves and richly hand-painted enamels. The faceted body, domed lid and sculptural serpentine hydra-form handle place it among Mason’s more elaborate ornamental wares of the period.
The underside bears the printed Mason’s Patent Ironstone China mark, confirming authentic early 19th-century Staffordshire production. With its rare form, strong decorative complexity and complete lid, this teapot is an especially attractive example of early Mason’s decorative ironstone.
