Description

This is a most interesting oak coffer made in 1926, by Mr E Barratt of Halifax after recovering from gassing during the 1st world war. See letter below.

Well made and beautifully carved, this Gothic style oak coffer has theatrical masks on three sides and a plain panelled back.

Inside are two robust silver plated hinges to secure the top when raised along with the initials E.B. 1926 carved into the top.

Presented in top condition, having been waxed and polished, this item is looking for a "theatrical home"
