And also considering that it is over 300 years old the condition remains pretty good overall. The re-entrant corners, sometimes referred to as creating a kit kat shaped frame design add a little to the overall elegance of the piece, as does the moulded decoration to the gilded slip. The mirror plate itself is old, in fact it has significant age, which can be seen in the small areas of silvering, although that silvering is very small and inconsequential and it certainly doesn;t affect the function of the mirror.
