Quality Georgian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase

Description

A quality Georgian mahogany bureau bookcase, standing on ogee bracket feet and displaying fine proportions and craftsmanship throughout. The bureau section is fitted with an arrangement of two over three oak-lined drawers, each with brass swan neck handles, and flanked by turned pillars.

The fall-front opens to reveal a well-appointed interior, comprising eight small drawers, pigeonholes, deed boxes, and a central cupboard door with decorative inlay.

The upper section features a pair of glazed doors enclosing fully adjustable shelving, ideal for books or display. The piece is crowned with a shaped cornice, adding to its classical appeal.

Constructed in three sections for ease of movement and installation, this is a practical and highly decorative example of Georgian furniture.

Presented in good condition.
