Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced between 1830 and 1837, William IV furniture represents a transitional era between Regency neoclassicism and Victorian revival styles, characterised by bold scrollwork, faceted columns, and robust carved feet.

Craftsmen primarily utilised solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers arranged in segmented patterns over pine cores, supported by heavy central pedestals and triform plinth bases.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct brass tilt-top latches, hand-carved elements such as acanthus or lion paw feet, hand-sawn secondary timber on the underside, and natural patination across the wood grain.

Position the table in an entrance foyer or room centre as a focal point, pairing the rich wood tones with neutral wall palettes, contemporary artwork, or minimalist floral arrangements.

Dust regularly using a soft cotton cloth, apply beeswax along the timber grain annually, keep the piece away from direct heat or sunlight, and maintain stable indoor humidity levels to protect the veneer.
