Good Victorian Solid Silver Toast Rack by Nathan & Hayes, Chester 1895

Description

This good quality, four-slices, solid silver toast rack is dated Chester 1895 and bears the marks of the renowned Nathan & Hayes. The rectangular base with five arched wire-loop divisions and raised on four ball feet. The central bar surmounted by a ring handle. The design is simple and elegant.

Hallmarks:

N&H for Nathan & Hayes.

Chester Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "M" for 1895.

Dimensions and Weight:

Length: 9cm / 3.4 inches.

Height including handle: 10cm / 4 inches.

Width: 6cm / 2.2 inches

Weight: 68 g / 2.4 oz.
