Here we have a super quality 17th Century oil on canvas of Archibald Campbell (1598-1661) the 1st Marquess of Argyll presented in a gilt frame and with old paper labels to reverse, in the style of or possibly by David Scougall (1654-1682) who was known to have painted the sitter oon 20 occasions.
