Description

A 19th Century Carved Giltwood Pier Mirror.

With an overhanging spreading leaf pediment, sweeping to curved and concave gadroon topped corners, the sides falling from scroll and leaf decorated brackets, to the lower frieze, centred by a shell, amongst leaves, sweeping to paterae corners and thence rising scrolled leaves. The pediment, lower frieze and inner frame, carved with relief decoration of leaves and flowers against a lattice ground. The frame finished with a concave inner slip, holding the bevelled edge plate, with a coronet engraved upper quarter.

Height 42 inches, 107cm.

Width 18 1/2 inches, 47cm.

Depth 3 inches, 8cm.
