Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1870s.
With an overhanging spreading leaf pediment, sweeping to curved and concave gadroon topped corners, the sides falling from scroll and leaf decorated brackets, to the lower frieze, centred by a shell, amongst leaves, sweeping to paterae corners and thence rising scrolled leaves.
The frame finished with a concave inner slip, holding the bevelled edge plate, with a coronet engraved upper quarter.

Date circa 1870.
