Antique silver Rolex full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement, ‘timed three positions for all climates’, signed Rolex, which is working nicely. The movement is a Montilier 662. Montilier movements were commonly used in early Rolex pocket watches, particularly in the 1920s to 1940s, as Rolex did not produce their own pocket movements, relying instead on manufacturers like Montilier, Cortebert, and G Thommen. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside all three covers for Birmingham 1922 with a case maker’s mark for the Birmingham case maker Aaron Dennison, supplier of cases to many watch manufacturers including Rolex. The case is in super condition and has nice crisp engine turned detail to both the front and back.

The glass lens is in beautiful condition, as is the dial with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
