An Unusual Edwardian Novelty Silver Coal Scuttle Thimble Case & Thimble

An exquisite and rare example of Edwardian sewing ware. The superb novelty thimble holder is formed to represent a coal scuttle, with a hinged drop down front and a fixed handle. There is the original silk lined interior and the door features the collectible Reynolds Angels motif. Inside is a Chester silver thimble by the great Charles Horner and dating from the same period. A lovely and unusual collector''s piece, still usable today. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent with no major dents, holes or splits. There is a small ripple to the side and a couple of indentations to the underside, all commensurate with age and use.
