Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Norwegian enamel silverwork flourished from the late 19th through the mid-20th century, combining traditional metalworking techniques with vitreous enamel decoration. These small dishes often feature iconic Scandinavian motifs such as Viking longships, fjord landscapes, or guilloche patterns created by regional silversmiths.

These pieces are typically crafted from sterling silver or silver-gilt, decorated with vitreous glass enamel. Techniques such as guilloche involve engraving geometric patterns into the metal base before applying translucent coloured enamel over the top.

Authentic Norwegian silver enamel items bear makers marks alongside silver purity stamps such as 925S, 830S, or STERLING. Look for recognized stamps from established workshops alongside smooth, fired enamel detailing free from soft resin fills.

These small decorative dishes function as catchall trays for rings on a dressing table, as salt cellars on a formal dining table, or displayed collectively inside a glass cabinet to highlight their enamel colouring and silver rims.

Clean delicate enamel and silver gently using a soft, non-abrasive microfibre cloth dampened with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid submerging the piece in chemical silver dipping solutions, as harsh liquids can fracture or loosen vitreous enamel.
