Antique Sterling Silver Moss Agate Brooch

Description

A beautiful antique brooch set with a polished oval moss agate - a type of chalcedony which contains hypnotising inclusions resembling little plants or trees. When held up to the light this one looks like a tiny aquarium full of seaweed, mounted into a solid silver frame with reeded decoration.

SIZE: 2.8 x 2cm.

WEIGHT: 4.1g.

MATERIALS: Moss agate, 830 silver.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: The clasp is stamped 830.

CONDITION: Excellent antique condition.

ERA: Art Deco (c.1920s-1930s).
