Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silverware, produced between 1901 and 1910, combines classical proportions with functional design. Items frequently feature delicate engraving, heraldic crests, pierced metalwork, and handles designed for formal table service.

Antique serving tongs were crafted from solid sterling silver, composed of 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with copper for structural durability. Construction involved shaping the handles, die-stamping slotted blades, and fitting spring mechanisms.

Authentic British Edwardian silver features official hallmark stamps, including the lion passant symbol for sterling purity, an assay office mark, a makers mark, and a specific date letter denoting the year of manufacture.

Antique silver utensils are frequently styled on dining table settings, displayed inside glass-front cabinets, or presented on a sideboard tray alongside contemporary dining accessories to introduce historical texture.

Silver utensils should be washed by hand in warm water with mild soap and dried thoroughly with a soft cloth. Periodic polishing with a specialized silver cloth removes surface tarnish, while storage in anti-tarnish cloth bags prevents oxidisation.
