Fabulous Antique Sterling Silver Table Bell - Cherub - 1896

Description

A wonderful large table bell made from solid sterling silver from a good gauge of silver. Originally made abroad (Perhaps Dutch) and imported into England as sterling silver with a complete English silver hallmark for Sheffield 1896. The maker's initials are also present S.B.L. for Samuel Boyce Landeck.

The figural handle is in the form of charming Cherub with a bow slung around his neck and Arrows on his back. The bell makes the most wonderful sound when used, the heavy clapper make of solid silver.

A really superb and highly collectible bell in excellent condition, the bell has a diameter measuring 2 7/8" and stands 4" tall. The bell is weighty, coming in at 160 Grams or 5.14 Troy Ounces.
