Description

I believe this to be a 19th century “Neopolitan” figure of a market seller. Very original. Some fading commensurate with age and use. The quality of the basket work on the two baskets and the hat is very fine. One basket has chickens in, the other has provisions. I think the head is made of fabric. The base may well be a replacement.
