Rare 19th Century French Silver Mounted Limoges Enamel Scent Bottle, Circa 1880

Description

This is a fine quality 19th Century French silver and Limoges enamel cylindrical scent bottle. The silver banded hinged lid opening to reveal a stunning interior with rose gold wash finish and original glass stopper. The cylindrical enamelled case decorated with blue and white sprays of flowers on a grisaille enamel background.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was always the case with these type of scent bottle but silver tested.

Dimensions:

Height: 7cm / 2.6 inches.

Diameter: 2cm / 0.7 inches.

Condition:

Very good

No damage to the enamel.

Strong hinge.

Clean interior.

Original stopper.
