In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It is a good quality piece with turned wooden knobs, dovetail joints and nicely figured timbers. The chest has 7 drawers in total flanked by two wellington style pillars. The right hand one locks shut to secure the drawers and has its original working key.
It is in good original condition and is certainly a very usable piece. There are some minor signs of age and use and the cabinet has picked up some small knocks and scuffs over the years and a couple of small chips but no major damages. The drawers are generally clean and tidy inside and all open smoothly.
