Jon Hill Antiques has dated this Victorian Pine Travel Trunk to the Victorian era.
We have cleaned it both inside and out, preserving its story, leaving a lovely warm colour that’s been waxed to enhance it’s age. Unusually for this type of trunk it has big chunky brass corners – which are quite sharp and therefore probably not small child friendly!
It’s original lock works well, covered by a neat small brass escutcheon and the key, as you can see, is there too.
It’s an old piece which has seen some life so it does have marks, dents and scrapes, which you’d expect from something that’s been around a bit but it’s lovely, a useful-size and in superb condition, ready for use.
