The composition reflects the Rococo Revival taste, with an elegant pose, a rose held to the chest, and a well-developed rocaille base supported by a naturalistic stump.The face is delicately painted, with refined expression and softly modelled features typical of quality Volkstedt production. The decoration is balanced and restrained, with careful use of colour and gilding enhancing the modelling rather than dominating it.The underside bears an underglaze blue twelve-rayed rosette mark associated with Triebner, Ens & Eckert.
