London City Antiques has dated this Regency Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase to the Regency era.

The fall front secretaire opens to reveal a beautifully fitted interior with a tooled leather writing surface, pigeon holes and small drawers, including original inkwell compartment. This form was designed as a compact writing cabinet, allowing letters, documents and writing tools to be neatly organised while the fall front provides a practical writing surface.

The lower section fitted with four graduated drawers retaining original style handles and raised on unusual Regency scroll feet. The figured mahogany throughout displays a rich warm colour and attractive grain, enhancing the overall quality.

A handsome and practical Regency piece combining display, storage and writing functionality, ideal for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
