This is a large Mahal carpet with a really attractive design and great country house look dating from around 1900.The room size carpet has a raspberry field centred by a large floral medallion framed by spandrels and indigo borders of palmettes and flowers, flanked by guard stripes. The Mahal has a great colour combination and good detail to the design which incorporates multiple flower motifs with acanthus leaf scrolls a large central medallion.Condition:The carpet is in good useable order overall with some even wear and it has had the odd repair done over the years.
