Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sculptures from this period frequently combined traditional ecclesiastical iconography with decorative Art Nouveau or Symbolist influences. Artists utilised expressive drapery, vivid glaze application, and stylized figures to modernize sacred art forms.

These sculptures are typically press-moulded or hand-modelled from terracotta or earthenware clays. They are fired and subsequently coated with tin-based or lead-based vitreous glazes containing metallic oxides to produce varied colours.

Authentic period ceramic figures often display incised or impressed makers marks or mould numbers near the base. Evidence of hand-painted glaze pooling, subtle surface crazing, and honest wear to unglazed foot rims also indicate genuine age.

A vibrant ceramic sculpture functions well as a focal accent when placed within a fireplace alcove, on a sideboard top, or inside a lighted display cabinet. Pairing coloured glazes against neutral backdrops accentuates the sculptural silhouette.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfiber cloth. Avoid immersing glazed earthenware in water or using abrasive chemical detergents, as these can penetrate micro-fractures in the glaze and damage underlying clay.
