Scottish Provincial Silver Cream Jug by James Gordon, Aberdeen C.1775.

Description

A very rare Scottish Provincial Silver helmet style cream jug. Made in Aberdeen by James Gordon, one of the cities foremost silversmiths. It is marked "JG, ABD" on the base and has original initials on the body. The cream jug is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. This is an unusual style of jug to be made in Aberdeen and would probably have been part of a teaset. It is highly collectable and would enhance any collection.

Weight; 175 grams or 6 ozst approx.
