Antique Georgian Mahogany Commode Chest C.1800

Description

A George III mahogany commode chest, the solid top with moulded edge above a pair of cupboard doors enclosing a divided interior, set over one working drawer and one false drawer with a concealed storage void behind, all raised on bracket feet with concealed brass castors.

An attractive and practical piece, later converted and now offering practical storage in a compact footprint. It would work well as a bedside cupboard, in a dressing room or in a hall where a small, useful piece abundant in character is needed.

Very good antique condition with some surface wear and patina consistent with age and use. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
