ANTIQUE #SA1207614

Antique Early Metalware 17thc /18thc Copper Chafing-dish With Fruitwood Turned Handle. Probably Dutch C1680-c1720.

£225    $303    €260
A fine example of a late 17thc / early 18thc copper chafing-dish, also known as a brasier....used to keep a kettle, plate or pan hot, by filling the centre with glowing charcoal and then it is brought to the table...this lovely piece of early metalware has a very good natural patina and has done well to have survived in such excellent condition.

Dutch C1680-C1720.
