Description

A charming Georgian painted mahogany tea caddy; beautifully hand painted throughout with neoclassical motifs including threads of pearls, rosettes and laurel leaves set within a barber's pole stringing and crossbanded in mahogany. The top retaining its original axe head handle and raised on the original ormolu ball feet.

It is exceptionally rare to find Georgian painted decoration in such good condition.
