Lovely Antique Carlton Ware Floral & Gilt Rectangular Serving Tray - 1896

A Lovely Antique Carlton Ware Rectangular Serving Tray with moulded corners and shaped side handles. The base colour is a warm cream or ivory tone with a softly undulating, scalloped rim.
 
The centre is decorated with a polychrome floral arrangement, painted as a bouquet with scrolling flourishes. Gilt detailing frames the inner border and continues as stylised wheat-sheaf motifs to the ends. Marked with Registration Number ‘268930’ for the year 1896.
 
* Carlton Ware decoration has a confident, cheerful elegance that sits comfortably in both vintage and modern interiors.
