Eighteenth Century Walnut Bureau Bookcase

Description

A handsome Italian Eighteenth Century walnut bureau bookcase; the stepped cornice crossgrain veneered in walnut above two cuboard doors which are veneered with ovals of olive ash set on a field of quarter veneered walnut which is then banded in tulipwood; the doors open to reveal fixed shelves; the fall inlaid to the centre with an oval of olive ash opens to reveal a fully fitted interior; below is a waist moulding in chestnut and three graduated drawers; raised on bracket feet. The sides are veneered with panels of highly figured walnut crossbanded in tulipwood. Retaining a good colour and patination.
