Ritas Bazaar has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The surface is richly decorated in cobalt blue, iron-red enamels and gilding on an ivory ground, with stylised floral motifs and angular reserves. The octagonal rims, domed covers and scroll handles create a balanced and elegant silhouette.

Ridgways developed “Old Derby” as a commercially successful revival pattern inspired by earlier Derby porcelain, and it remains one of the most sought-after designs produced by the factory.
A complete pair retaining both covers, a feature often lost and increasingly difficult to find.
