An aesthetic movement ebonised cabinet by Garnett & Sons, Warrington, dating to circa 1890. Of compact proportions, the piece features a mirrored back above a projecting shelf supported by turned uprights. The lower section incorporates a central cupboard with applied brass hinges and decorative roundels, flanked by open arched compartments with shelves. Gilt line detailing highlights the mouldings and panels, contrasting with the deep ebonised finish. Raised on turned feet, the cabinet reflects late 19th-century English design influenced by Japanese forms and restrained ornament.
