Large Old Sheffield Plated Tea Urn Samovar by Matthew Boulton

Description

This very large and impressive tea urn or samovar is made of Old Sheffield Plate. Dating to c1820 and marked with the two stars of Matthew Boulton to the base and the inside of the lid. With wonderfully large lion paw feet, very substantial handles and a superb pineapple shaped finial. Tinned to the interior and the base. A truly substantial and eye catching display piece.

In good condition with slight surface wear due to age and use. The tap is missing one small cap to the lefthand side and the top of the tap is slightly loose. The plating is in remarkably good order.

Weight approx 7.4kg.
