Art Deco Silver & Guilloche Enamel Compact by Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1922

Description

This delightful silver and guilloche compact was made in Birmingham in 1922 by the renowned Henry Matthews. Of octagonal form, the front decorated with a vibrant turquoise colour enamel cabochon. The hinged lid opening to reveal a gilt interior.

Attachment ring for a chain.

Hallmarks:

HM for Henry Matthews.

Date letter "x" for 1922.

Birmingham Assay mark.

Lion passant.

Condition:

Good

Enamel in very good conditIon.

A couple of

Strong hinge.

Good clear hallmarks.

Back with minor surface wear commensurate with age and use
