Attributed To James Shoolbred, An Aesthetic Movement Oak And Brass-mounted Hall Rack

James Shoolbred & Co. were a famous and well-regarded firm of furniture makers and furnishers with headquarters with large headquarters in the Tottenham Court Road and subsiduary shops in Grafton Street and University Street.
 
This hall rack is an example of their most recognisible ''Art Furniture'' style, possibly designed by H.W Batley.
 
The hall rack was presumably designed to complimemt Schoolbred''s stick stand and hall bench, but is a rarer find than either.
 
Good overall condition, with isolated marks and blemishes, see images
 
Provenance: Fresh to the market from a townhouse in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
